THE DEFENSE

Q: Sweet ride! But before we get to that, what's your name, where do you live and how old are you?

A: Amber. I live in Harrison Township, 48045. Twenty-one.

Q: Great, thanks Amber. What can you tell us about your car?

A: This is a 2006 Chevy Malibu, basic transportation. To and from class and work mostly. Unless there's a Red Wings game and I'm down at the Joe!

Q: Are you spending a lot of time commuting every day?

A: Not that much actually, maybe about half an hour. Most of where I need to go on a daily basis is pretty close to where I live. I live in Harrison Township, go to school in Clinton Township and work in Roseville--all of which is within a stone's throw of each other.

Q: Worst part of your commute?

A: Getting stuck in traffic, especially with the random acts of construction that keep popping up everywhere.

Q: Farthest place you've driven?

A: Chicago with my Aunt. I adore that city. It was about five hours to get there.

Q: It is usually a fun break. Any rules you'd like to share?

A: No rules really. Just don't break anything. I've seen things get broken in other people's cars and I really don't want to have to deal with something like that.

Q: Tell us about how you acquired this car. Was it a new purchase?

A: No, I didn't buy it. It was a gift two years ago for Christmas from my grandpa. There's about 56,000 miles on it now.

Q: That's a really sweet grandpa gift indeed. Any thoughts about a realistic next car?

A: A Chevy Cobalt. I just like the way they look.

Q: Anything else you'd like to share with us today?

A: Even though I don't drive much, the gas prices are all over the place. It's good to know that I don't have to fill up very often with this car. It's a little dented up. Nothing serious or major accidents or anything like that, just some battle scars from the road!
