The Motown Winter Blast is a spectacular event, aptly named because it is just that - a blast! Detroit's "winter carnival" has been welcoming attendees from within the city and beyond for the past 11 years, as it continues to grow year after year. This winter wonderland features musical acts, fun outdoor activities and an array of unique events. Winter Blast is geared toward families and offers plenty of opportunities to create memories while spending time together.
Winter Blast is fun for everyone, but little ones will be drawn to the Kids Zone. Activities are just right for children, but older kids will love it too. There's plenty of snowy fun to keep everyone busy.
From complimentary ice skating at the smooth rink in the center of it all, to snow-shoeing in Cadillac Square, the sparkle in the winter air will dissipate the February chill. But if it doesn't, there's always roasting marshmallows. Use one of the awesome brazario stations set up for this unique winter activity. S'mores kits are available for purchase and are a wonderful way to create everlasting memories.

Kids will love checking out the gorgeous ice sculptures, especially when they are lit up at night. Carved by seasoned artists and sculptors, each piece is a work of art. Kids will love sitting in a giant ice throne while parents snap away with their cameras. There's even a chance to witness the artists at work as they demonstrate their expertise to onlookers. This is something they'll never forget.
Pro skaters will show off their style as they showcase their skills on the ice during a live demonstration. And what kid doesn't love singing and dancing! Music performances will feature a slew of local bands.
Foodies rejoice! A special segment of Winter Blast is devoted to amazing eats and treats. An outrageous selection of unique food and drink offerings will be available to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. A ton of local restaurants and eateries are participating this year. There are sweets for the kids, including wintertime favorites such as hot chocolate, and even frosty brews for the adults.
