Free Driver's Training Program

A national teen driver's education program is taking place at Oakland Mall this weekend and it is free.

WWJ auto analyst John McElroy reports the Driver's Edge program is a non-profit organization that offers training to those between 16 and 21 years of age.

This weekend's program is at Oakland Mall.  Those wanting to participate must have a valid learner's permit or license.  The program takes about four-and-a-half hours.

The website says driver's education in this country is "appalling."
