Hammer Attack Leaves Two Injured

A horrifying scene in the parking lot of a Warren Meijer store.

A man returning to his truck Saturday evening is attacked with a hammer after confronting a man he found inside of his truck. The victim managed to wrestle control of the hammer ... which he then used on the suspect. The suspect escaped in a pick-up stolen from Hazel Park. But, after clipping an SUV, he crashed into a building.

Warren police tell WWJ Newsradio 950 that the suspect was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He's facing numerous charges.
