Community Meeting Set In Yale After Stabbings

Michigan State Police say arraignments will likely take place Sunday for three suspects jailed in connection with a deadly stabbing in Yale.

Police say two young men and a 17-year old female are being held in the St. Clair County jail pending the filing of charges.

Paul Skinner died after fighting with two attackers early Friday morning. Mara Skinner, a teacher at Yale Junior High School, is hospitalized. She was stabbed 20 times.

Yale police say the intruders were wearing Halloween masks and climbed through a bedroom window of the home on South Main Street and stabbed the couple as they lay in bed.

A community meeting is set for 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Yale High School where students and staff are trying to deal with the stabbing of a teacher. The school district says the focus of the meeting will be to provide parents and caregivers "tools to help children deal with tragedy."

The 5th and 6th grade Girls Blue Water Basketball League scheduled to be hosted at Yale tomorrow, Saturday, November 13 is postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, November 20th.

Yale Elementary Basketball scheduled for Saturday at the Jr. high is canceled. Registration will take place next Saturday, November 20th at the Jr. High.
