Train Travel Removes Some Of The Stress

Could you imagine being able to walk right up to a plane on the airport runway without even a ticket? That, in essence is what you can do at the train station, where things are more laid back compared to the airport.

Even before the fuss over body scans and pat downs, passengers waiting to board Amtrak's Wolverine bound for Chicago say they will take a train over a plane any time they can.  And if they wouldn't fly, they say it's not because of the tougher security.

"I relax, I fall asleep on the train, I like the train, I really enjoy it, I've been taking this train for ten years."

Rosemary Freeman-Thomas of Brownstown Township, en route to Chicago, told WWJ's Ron Dewey.

Another passenger waiting at the Dearborn Amtrak Station stated, "I think that it is important, I feel safe, and
whatever it takes to be safe on airplanes, is fine with me, if it takes pat-downs and x-rays, so be it, if someone doesn't like it they can take a taxi."

Other travelers say they would have no problem with a pat down or body scan if needed.
