Services Held For Slain Border Patrol Agent

Services were held st Detroit church, Wednesday, for a border patrol agent killed during a gun battle with bandits near the Arizona border with Mexico.

Greater Grace Temple hosted the funeral for 40-year-old Brian A. Terry. Terry was part of a team of agents tracking the organized gang Dec. 14 in a canyon just north of Mexico. Four bandits were arrested.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has said the bandits tracked by Terry's team typically rob drug smugglers or illegal immigrants making their way into the U.S.

Terry served in the Marines and as a police officer in the Lower Michigan cities of Ecorse and Lincoln Park before joining the border patrol in 2007. He is survived by his mother, father, a brother and two sisters.
