Scandalous Movie Based On Detroit Debuting Tonight
A movie debuting tonight in Detroit -- about Detroit -- but not based on any real Detroiters, is raising a lot of eyebrows.
The Red Carpet Premiere of "Scandal in the City" takes place tonight at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History.
Detroit Minister Malik Shabazz plays the part of Mayor Calvin Kennedy. WWJ City Beat Reporter asked Shabazz what he thinks former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick would say about the movie if he saw it.
"I hope that my friend ... would be proud," Shabazz said. "Um, I think that he would say that I did it with dignity."
