New Clinton Township Company Installs EV Chargers

A new business that brings power to electric vehicles has opened in Macomb County.

Clinton Township-based Park-n-Plug installs EV charging stations at commercial developments, parking structures, industrial sites, office complexes, healthcare facilities and more.

The charging stations are to provide electrical power and data communications for both hybrid electric and 100 percent electric vehicles.

The company is owned by Rick Drouillard, a professional land surveyor from Armada, along with two civil engineers, an architect, an electrical engineer, and an electrical contractor.

These experts in their respective fields provide consulting, engineering, system integration, and installation of the EVs. Park-n-Plug is the only business of this kind in the area.

"Park-n-Plug believes that EV charging stations should be installed with great focus on all safety aspects, while implementing all the local, municipal and national codes and regulations," Drouillard said.

It is necessary to consider zoning, planning, building codes, ordinances, safety issues, and other important aspects before the installation of EV charging stations, especially in parking lots (where customers could trip over cords) and other commercial locations.
