DSO, Musicians Still At An Impasse

DETROIT (WWJ) - There are signs that it could be the sounds of silence for the entire season -- if the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and its striking musicians don't make serious progress on Friday.

WWJ's Citybeat Reporter Vickie Thomas has been following the musicians' strike since they started picketing last October. Now, Vickie is reporting that the musicians have just rejected the latest offer put on the table by the DSO.

A spokesperson for the Symphony says the union representing the musicians has until the end of the day Friday to make a new proposal. And, depending on what's in that proposal, both sides may go back to the bargaining table to try and hash out a deal or the rest of the season may be cancelled.
