Cutbacks Possible At Detroit Public Libraries

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Public Library's 23 branches are about to get a lot smaller. The plan is to reduce staffing by 20%, or about 83 workers, by the end of next month.

Also under consideration: Branch closures and reduced hours of service.

The city's declining property values are the apparent reason for the cutbacks.
