Supermodel Niki Taylor Stops In Motown

DETROIT  (WWJ) - Supermodel Niki Taylor stopped in Detroit to drop off a stimulus check as part of Reader's Digest  "We Hear You America" campaign.   Detroit is one of 100 cities  sharing $5 million in the 100-day campaign.  Taylor presented a check for one thousand dollars to Detroit Mayor Dave Bing to help the city restore some programs that had been cut.

Taylor told WWJ,  "We heard that a lot of potholes weren't being fixed, after school programs were being canceled,  and pools weren't opening for the summer,"  because a number of cities had to cut their budgets during these tough economic times.

You can still nominate a city to be rewarded as part of the Reader's Digest program.

Taylor also had nice things to say about Detroit:  "This is probably my third time here.  We were here during the Superbowl (in 2006) when it was snowing and it was freezing here.  I remember waiting in the security line for almost two hours just to get into the stadium. "  And she adds, " I love Detroit.  Detroit has some of the nicest people here."

Taylor has been modeling since she was 14 years old, and has been featured on the covers of more than 300 magazines.  Most recently, she appeared on NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice."
