Jeff Riger: Jim Leyland Not A Fan Of Interleague Play!

As Tigers manager Jim Leyland sat and talked to the media as he does before every game he took a stand that he knows might cause a minor controversy: he doesn't like interleague play. "The interleague play or whatever it is has worn off, it has run its course for me," Leyland stated before the Tigers took on the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Leyland went on to say that he doesn't think it's fair to have an American League team play back to back series in National League cities like the Tigers will on June 17th through the 22nd when they play the Rockies and the Dodgers. The skipper also thinks that the National League has an advantage in the World Series considering that American League teams in a National League city might have pitchers who have never hit throughout the course of the season and then they are expected to hit in the biggest games of their lives.
