Many Winning Lotto Tickets Go Unclaimed

DETROIT (WWJ) - You might want to check your pockets for a lottery ticket. Especially if you bought it in the city of Madison Heights.

State lottery officials say the ticket, worth a quarter million dollars will expire this week if it is not claimed by then.

It's among $30-million dollars worth of winning, but unclaimed lottery tickets floating around.

The largest, worth $27-million dollars, was sold in Kalamazoo a week ago. If there are no takers with the lottery ticket to prove it's theirs, the money will go into the school aid fund.
