MCWT Connect-Net To Talk Nonprofits: The Michigan Council of Women will hold one of its "Connect-Net" meeting series, "Nonprofits And You: Assessing the Personal and Professional Benefits of Being Involved with a Nonprofit Organization," on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Epitech Group, 24800 Denso Drive, Suite 150, Southfield. The meeting is free to MCWT members, $5 for students and $10 for nonmembers. Nonprofit organizations serve an important role in our society and economy. X-Rite Announces Fall Tour Starts In Detroit: Kentwood-based X-Rite Inc. (Nasdaq: XRIT) will kick off its fall color management tour, "Fundamentals of Color & Appearance," in Detroit on Sept. 22. The event is a one-day seminar that instructs quality control and assurance professionals, lab technicians, parts suppliers, pre-media and digital pressroom personnel and manufacturing specifiers on how to evaluate and approve colors in their workflows. Taught by X-Rite color experts, FOCA provides practical information applicable to any industry dealing with color in easy-to-understand terms, including retail and apparel brands, business and consumer electronics, automotive, graphics arts, packaging and their related industries in plastics, coatings, and textile manufacturing. X-Rite color experts will give attendees a solid foundation in the basics of color and appearance, and provide instruction on how to measure, view and understand color data. The tour continues Sept. 27 in Hapeville, Ga.; Sept. 29 in Irvine, Calif; Oct. 6 in Framingham, Mass.; Oct. 13 in Schaumburg, Ill.; and Oct. ,25 in Lyndhurst, N.J. The $595 course requires no prior color training and will address color control for a variety of industries.
