Chrysler Employees Honor MLK's Memory With Service Week
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - More than 150 Chrysler workers expected to celebrate Martin Luther King's memory with a week of community service.
Chrysler communications manager Daphane Harris says the MLK week of service is all about honoring the late Dr. King's legacy.
"Becoming a part of the solution rather than a problem, creating a beloved community that Dr. King envisioned in his lifetime," said Harris.
The employees will lend a hand at a community center in River Rouge, Vista Maria and several food banks and pantries.
Harris says that the people who are helping are not the only ones benefitting from the service.
"It builds a great sense of moral when you get out with your co-workers and do great things for other people," said Harris.
It's the fourth year for Chrysler's week of service and employees in several other Chrysler communities are taking part in the service week to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.
