Made In Michigan: Aunt Millie's

Almost all of Aunt Millie's bakery products are made in Michigan. The company was founded more than 50 years ago in Fort Wayne, Indiana but most of the products are baked in Michigan.

"Aunt Millie's bakes five million products a week and I would definitely say that the majority of those are coming out of our Michigan facility, said the company's spokesperson Melissa Dunning.

The bake goods are well-known on Michigan grocery shelves but the question surrounding Aunt Millie is if she is a real person.

"Aunt Millie is sort of everyone's aunt, kind of like Santa Clause," said Dunning.

Dunning said that the company uses a lot of market research to stay ahead of the competitive food chain in a time of changing taste. "We've got white bread but we've got lots of whole grain bread and lots of fiber breads. Lots of all natural products and right now and we are striving to make even more of our products 100% natural," she said.

Aunt Millie's employs hundreds of Michigan residents.
