Jim Price To Miss The Tigers 9-Game Road Trip

Detroit Tigers radio analyst Jim Price will miss the upcoming 9-game road trip at the request of the team the Tigers said Monday.

Former Tigers pitcher Dan Petry will fill in while Price it out.

Petry filled in for Price earlier this season when he was stricken by the same bug that affected several players as well.

"I tried to gut it out, but I couldn't even write on my scorebook," he said upon his return. "I've never had the shakes like that."

Price also said his immune system had been weakened by his second bout with cancer.

Price is scheduled to return to the booth May 16, when the Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park.
