Out Of Control Car Skids Into Detroit Shoe Store
DETROIT (WWJ) - A new business owner is sweeping up the remains of her Detroit shoe store after a van came crashing through the window.
It happened Tuesday afternoon at 7 Mile and Livernois on the city's west side.
Nearby business owner Henry Stallings witnessed the crash.
"I saw this man trying to beat the traffic," Stallings told WWJ Newsradio 950's. "He got ... hit by a car going south, forcing him to run into the fire hydrant and then into this retail establishment."
The Grand Opening sign remains posted at eXchange Shoes, which opened last weekend. Choking back tears, the store owner declined to comment.
There were no injuries.
