Health Management Systems of America Launches Training Network Online
DETROIT -- Detroit-based Health Management Systems of America has acquired technology to deliver live, high-definition training sessions and other health-related information to social workers, behavioral healthcare specialists and interested people all over the country.
Through the VIA Network, available on HMSA's Web site, visitors can access the live training sessions, wellness information and other key health-related information.
"We recognized how important it is to be more accessible to our clients as well as the huge network of social workers across the nation," said Bill Sumner, CEO of HMSA. "Launching the VIA Network is the first step in the process. The sessions will stream live and attendees will be able to interact with presenters in real-time, just as if they were sitting in our office."
The VIA Network will allow HMSA to provide training not only for social workers, but for behavioral health specialists, regardless of their location. Users can watch live, or access the recording at a later date through the network link on HMSA's Web site. When attending the live online training sessions, attendees can interact with the presenter and other attendees through a chat function. Sessions are also available to watch from tablets or smart phones.
The first live-session was held Wednesday, Employee Assistance Professional 101. This will be followed by regular training sessions and supplemented with additional health and wellness information.
