Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate

Campaign Slogan: "Healing America"

Randy Hekman is one of three Republicans vying for the U.S. Senate in Michigan's Aug 7th primary. The winner will take on Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the November contest.

Hekman is a former prosecutor and juvenile court judge who hails from Grand Rapids. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1972. Hekman was assigned to the Office of the Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy in the Pentagon where he developed policies for computer systems in the Department of Defense.

A father of 12 children (age 19 to 40), he and wife, Marcia, have 22 grandchildren. He said it was God who inspired him to run for Senate. Marcia created a campaign video on YouTube, "Sweeter By The Dozen".

"I am the only candidate saying that there is not a purely political solution to the crisis America faces," Hekman said. "As I see it, the only way we can make a massive cultural shift toward selflessness is through another great spiritual and moral awakening such as brought healing to America in prior generations.

I am the only candidate not taking PAC money from corporate or trade association PACs. To me, these contributions are unseemly at best and legal bribes at worst," he added.
