DETROIT (WWJ) – On July 15, someone took the life of Javon Brown,28, leaving him to bleed to death on the lawn of a house on Winthrop Street near Trojan in Detroit. He’d been shot multiple times before his body was discovered dead at about 5 a.m.

And his family is still trying to get to the bottom of the River Rouge man’s murder.

Ryan Brown told WWJ 950 his brother’s death was a loss to the entire community. He had just graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in 2009.

“My brother was a comedian and he did a lot of work with radio stations and even some TV stations. … it’s just a sad situation,” said Ryan Brown.

Anyone with information on the late night shooting of Javon Brown is asked to make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

An extra $1,000 will be added to the current $2,500 reward for the tip that leads to an arrest by midnight Monday.
