Stoney And Bill's Football Picks For The Weekend Of 10-06-12

Bill came on strong last week and racked up his first win of the season with a 3-2 record, while I struggled mightily with a pathetic 1-4 slate. Here are this weeks pick as I try to get back on the winning side.
Stoney's Picks
Michigan -3 at Purdue
I think Purdue could be the surprise of the conference. Some say their defensive line is better than it was when Ryan Kerrigan was wrecking havoc on the Boilermakers opponents. Quarterback Caleb TerBush is having a very good season. The Wolverines defense finally played up to expectations in the Notre Dame loss, but I love it when the home team gets points.

MSU -15 1/2 at Indiana
Its time for the Spartans to do something. I honestly believe Mark Dantonio is really starting to get ticked off. Its time for this offense to show something, Indiana is horrible defensively and for the first time besides the CMU game,the green and white will satisfy their fans.

Georgia +2 at South Carolina
I had the Bulldogs last week and got burned. Michael Bennett ,Georgia's best receiver is now out for the season. I love Marcus Latimore and the home team.
SOUTH CAROLINA -2
Eagles + 3 1/2 at Steelers
The Eagles have won their 3 games by a combined 4 points. The Steelers are welcoming James Harrison and Troy Polamalu back to the lineup. The Eagles will also be looking past this game because they have the Lions next week.
STEELERS -3 1/2
Chargers +3 1/2 at Saints
Usually a 3-1 team is not an underdog against a winless team, but the 0-4 Saints are not your average winless team. They think they can still get in the playoff hunt, but have to win this game to have a shot.I think they do it.

Michigan -3 at Purdue
Not exactly buying the 'Cinderella Purdue' story but I'm also not buying the continued Denard praise. Purdue will win at home.

The Hoosiers could bring out Antwaan Randle El, Bobby Knight, Steve Alford and Gene Hackman and they still wouldn't beat the Spartans...Take MSU giving the points.

Georgia has quite an offense but they will meet their match in Columbia, South Carolina. Take the 'Cocks and the points.

Eagles + 3 1/2 at Steelers
Pittsburgh's run game frankly, sucks. Doesn't matter that the Eagles record is suspect, they win. Take the Eagles and the points.

Chargers +3 1/2 at Saints
Keep the ball out of Drew Brees's hands and air it out and Chargers will keep the Saints undefeated. Might be time to bring the paper bags back out in New Orleans. Take the Chargers and the points.
