MCWT Foundation Now Accepting 2013 Scholarship Applications

SOUTHFIELD -- Could you or someone you know benefit from a scholarship from the Michigan Council of Women in Technology?

The MCWT Foundation is accepting applications for its 10th annual university scholarship and laptop grant program aimed at encouraging female students to pursue technology degrees and certifications at the college level. It is open to women of all ages.

The program offers:
* one high school senior scholarship ($20,000)
* one high school senior/GET-IT program member scholarship ($4,000)
* one undergraduate-level scholarship ($15,000)
* one graduate-level student scholarship ($15,000) currently enrolled or who will be enrolled in technology program college/university courses
* three laptop grants

Through the scholarship program, the MCWT Foundation helps women pursue educational goals and become leaders in Michigan's technology industry. Since the first competition in 2002, the foundation has given away $562,000 to help women pursue their technical interests.

MCWT says its corporate partners realize the benefit of advancing women in the field. It's through their support that MCWT has been able to continue our program, making an impact on more women year after year.

Applications are due by Jan. 31 to be considered for the 2013 fall semester. Award amounts are listed on the applications, which can be accessed by visiting MCWT's scholarship page. Each form also lists applicant eligibility requirements.
