Police Seek Tips To Identify Southfield iPhone Thief

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Southfield police are asking for the public's help to find a man who allegedly robbed a woman one week ago.

Officials say the 21-year-old was approached by the suspect last Tuesday evening at a BP gas station on 8 Mile Road near Lahser. She said the unarmed man grabbed her iPhone and wallet. She tried to hold onto her property and was dragged across the parking lot until she let go.

The woman was treated at the scene for minor abrasions.

The suspect is described as a black male about 18 years old, a little over six feet tall and about 160 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing a dark blue zip up hooded jacket with four wide white stripes across the chest, dark pants and dark-colored Puma gym shoes.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or who has any information about this crime is asked to call Southfield police at 248-796-5500.
