Blue Jackets 4, Red Wings 2

COLUMBUS (97.1 THE TICKET/AP) - Damien Brunner scored with seconds left but it's too little too late as the Detroit Red Wings lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2 on Saturday night.

Detroit outshot Columbus but it doesn't translate on the board for the Wings who gave up a power play goal to James Wisniewski in the first period starting a scoring spree for the Blue Jackets.

Artem Anisimov scored twice in the second period, and Steve Mason stopped 32 shots to lead the  Blue Jackets past the Red Wings.

Mark Letestu added a short-handed goal, and Fedor Tyutin had two assists.

Wisniewski left the game with an injury after he struck the end boards with his back early in the second period.

Mason, who earned his first win of the season, overcame an early goal by Johan Franzen.

Anisimov was acquired last July in the blockbuster deal that sent captain Rick Nash to the New York Rangers. The Blue Jackets also sent a minor-league defenseman and a conditional third-round pick to the Rangers for Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and a first-round pick.
