Michigan To Debut All-Maize Uniforms Against Ohio State

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) It'll be a whiteout of sorts Tuesday night when the University of Michigan basketball team takes on 10th ranked Ohio State.

Only fans will be blinded by yellow instead of white.

The usually maize and blue clad Wolverines will debut new jerseys that eliminate the blue, putting a  sea of bright yellow on the court.

The team logo and numbers are maize-on-maize, with a thin blue outline, and the team will also wear yellow shorts and cornfield yellow shoes.

Along with their shades, fans are encouraged to bring their favorite maize gear for the "maize out."

According to the Athletic Department, the first 8,000 fans there will receive a maize Michigan basketball T-shirt courtesy of PNC Bank. ESPN The Magazine will also be on site capturing the event as part of its "One Day, One Game" issue on Michigan basketball.

"The most passionate Wolverine fans could be featured in ESPN's 'One Day, One Game' issue," the athletic department said in a press release. ESPN's crew has been following the Wolverines since their trip to Indiana and will focus on Michigan's short turnaround between Big Ten matchups with top 10 opponents -- and the game day environment inside Crisler Center.

There will be opportunities for fans to be photographed throughout Crisler Center and appear in the issue.
