FreeLunchFriday Hosts Second Meet-Up Feb. 22 At Atomic Object: FreeLunchFriday hosts its second monthly meet-up Feb. 22 at Atomic Object's Harmonie Park office. The featured speaker is Mike McGee, co-founder of The Starter League, a beginner-focused software school in Chicago. FreeLunchFriday kicked off in Detroit and Los Angeles in January. This month a third community in Orange County, Calif. will launch. Next month, FLF will be at the South By Southwest 2013 music, digital and entrepreneur extravaganza in Austin, Texas. A fifth community in Phoenix, Arizona, also will launch in March. The Feb. 22 meet-up in Detroit is at Atomic Object office at on the third floor of 1407 Randolph in Harmonie Park. MSU Sets ChEMS Research Forum: The Department of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science (ChEMS) at Michigan State University will hold its annual ChEMS Research Forum on Thursday, May 9. The Forum will be held at the Spartan Club on the Campus of Michigan State University. The 10th Annual ChEMS Research Forum will showcase Departmental research advances in the areas of energy and sustainability, nanotechnolgy and materials, and biotechnology and biomedical engineering. The one-day program will feature plenary speakers, posters and oral presentations describing the latest Department research results. Registration, lunch, and refreshments are complimentary. TechTown Sets Entrepreneur's Diary Event: Detroit's TechTown will host "Diary of an Entrepreneur" Thursday, Feb. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Union Street Saloon, 4145 Woodward Ave., Detroit.
