MMIC Offers Best Shot Workshop in Traverse City
Thursday, March 7: The MidMichigan Innovation Center will offer its "Best Shot Workshop" in Traverse City at the Inside Out Gallery from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m. Participants will learn how to target their market, explore distribution channels and receive help crafting their sales pitch.One-on-one time with one of the panelists or speakers will be made available for those who seek specific coaching. MMIC Offs Entrepreneurs Round Table In Midland
Tuesday, March 12: The MidMichigan Innovation Center will offer "The Entrepreneurs' Round Table @ MMIC - Midland" at the MMIC's Midland office from noon to 1 p.m. Small business and startup issues are addressed in this brown bag forum. From licensing and accessing capital to distribution means and marketing, an interactive discussion on useful and current topics is led by an MMIC mentor, staff, member or entrepreneur. This gathering is designed to promote creative productivity and to introduce new resources. This MMIC coordinated event is held monthly on the second Tuesday, from noon until 1 p.m. Refreshments and light snacks are provided. MMIC Offers TED Talk @ MMIC - Midland
Thursday, March 14: The MidMichigan Innovation Center will offer "TED Talk" at the MMIC's Midland office from 8:30 to 10 a.m. TED is a nonprofit devoted to "Ideas Worth Spreading." It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. The TEDx program gives communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. Join MMIC as we explore a different TED video, over coffee, every second and fourth Thursdays each month. This event is free, registration is required and contributions are greatly accepted. MMIC Offers Innovator Spotlight: Lee Rouse @ MMIC - Midland
Tuesday, March 19: The MidMichigan Innovation Center will offer its monthly Innovator Spotlight from noon to 1 p.m. at the MMIC in Midland from noon to 1 p.m. Join us for an interactive discussion on strategic planning presented by Omni Tech President and CEO, Lee Rouse. She will specifically cover the following: What is strategic planning? How does it differ from business planning? How can strategic planning benefit your company? MMIC Offers Best Shot Competition @ MMIC - Midland
Wednesday, March 20: The MidMichigan Innovation Center will offer its monthly Best Shot Competition at the MMIC in Midland from 5 to 8 p.m. In this event, 10 entrepreneurs compete for the spot in the "Buyers Circle" at the fifth annual Heading for the Big Leagues, being held May 30 at the Dow Diamond in Midland. Each contestant will have five minutes to give the sales pitch their Best Shot. Best pitch will have clearly and intelligently defined their target market, appropriate distribution channel and have had a competent execution. Each presenter will receive valuable feedback after their presentation and there will be two winners chosen by the qualified panel of experts. The "Buyers Circle" will be comprised of specifically chosen buyers and sponsors who can help the winning presenters get to their target market. MMIC Offers 'Pennies On The Dollar' Money Saving Event For Small Biz
Thursday, March 28: The MidMIchigan Innovation Center will offer the inaugural "Pennies On The Dollar" event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MMIC MIdland, 2007 Austin St. This event will offer valuable resources and small business tools that can be found on the internet for free or low cost. A variety of business ares will be studied. Attendees will get plenty of ideas from staffing and project management to marketing and distribution means, even IP.
