SAE Sets Networking Night: The SAE Detroit Section will hold its next "Networking Night" from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30 at Woodward Avenue Brewers, 22646 Woodward Ave. in Ferndale. SAE members and guests meet every other month to discuss current social and business topics with fellow executive-minded professionals. The event location varies each month throughout the Metro Detroit area. There is no cost for admission, but everyone is responsible for their own tab. User Interface Pros Set UX Thursday: UX Thursday is a special one-day event for MIchigan UXers on June 20. The event will take place at Colony Club. Led by User Interface Engineering's Jared Spool, UX Thursday is six presentations from local superstars and keynotes from two leading UX experts. All UXT events are a collaborative effort between UIE and Vitamin T to help nourish local UX communities by providing networking and education opportunities. Celebrate The Solstice With MCWT: The Michigan Council of Women in Technology is offering a summer solstice celebration at its MCWT ConnectNet Social Wednesday, June 19 at Bahama Breeze, 539 E. Big Beaver Road in Troy. The event is frree to MCWT members and $15 for others. Join us for another fun and festive celebration as we celebrate the start of summer! Our March Connect Net Social Mixer was so successful we are scheduling this one to usher in summer. MCWT is providing this event free to members, including complementary light appetizers. MMIC sets 'Best Shot' sales pitch competition in TC: Have you ever been told you are a great sales person?? If so, this is your chance to show us what your winning sales pitch! Please join the MidMichigan Innovation Center for its "Best Shot"-The Sales Pitch Competition on Wednesday, June 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Inside Out Gallery, 229 Garland Stt., Traverse City. Of the applicants to the event, 10 salesmen and women will be selected to compete. One will be named "Best Shot" and the prize list for the winner keeps getting longer (we are good at selling too!) as we talk to many generous sponsors. Each presenter gets four minutes, one slide and three questions from the panel of qualified judges. We provide coaching the template for the slide and refreshments for all.
