Springthrough Brings Technical Expertise to New Haworth Online Retail Site

GRAND RAPIDS -- Grand Rapids-based Springthrough Thursday announced it had provided strategic insight and technology consultation to Holland-based Haworth Inc. in the company's new online retail site for consumes.

Haworth, a designer and manufacturer of furniture, interior architecture and technology, announced a new Web site at http://haworth.com and a new online Haworth store at http://store.haworth.com, in advance to NeoCon, the commercial furniture industry's trade show in Chicago.

"We combined experience in the furniture industry with a 360-degree solution that meets Haworth's business goals and showcases our expertise as an integrated technology solution provider," said Eric Spencer, solution architect at Springthrough. "The result is the most visually enticing and easy-to-navigate furniture website out there and a breakthrough 'try before you buy' virtual experience that sets Haworth, and Springthrough, apart from the competition."

"Based on the multiple technology and design facets of our new interactive experience for consumers, we required a strong technical partner to help us achieve our goals," says Tom DeBoer, alternative markets manager at Haworth. "Springthrough exceeded our expectations, from the initial planning to the delivery."

Springthrough used the Sitefinty ASP.Net web content management platform from Telerik, the provider of software development, lifecycle and web content management tools, to expand technology-based benefits in image search and navigation. Additionally, a 'good-better-best' recommendation tool helps visitors achieve optimum results from search on the site, and secure credit card ordering is now available for low volume/high dollar transactions that include contact and billing information tracking and SAP ERP integration. It also includes management of sales and internet tax collection in all 50 states.

The integration of an augmented reality experience with the direct link to an e-commerce site facilitates a new way to access products for purchase and opens up a ground-breaking way to shop online. By using the AR tool on an iPad, shoppers simulate the placement of furniture in their small office or home to compare colors and textures to the carpet, walls and other room décor in real time, and connect to the item in the online store to place their order.

In addition to expertise on iOS, the Springthrough Microsoft Certified Interactive Services team works with clients to innovate solutions on the Microsoft mobile and Android platforms and develops trend-setting interactive experiences for small, medium and large clients by incorporating technologies like augmented reality, mobile projection and multi-touch services.
