Two Separate Rape Cases Reported On Campus Of EMU
YPSILANTI (WWJ) - Eastern Michigan University has reported two cases of rape on campus over this past weekend.
EMU spokesman Geoff Larcom says neither case was random, and police have identified suspects.
"In one case the perpatrator, a fellow student, is in custody," said Larcom. "In the second case police have also identified the perpatrator and this person is a relative of a student who has returned to Ohio and police are seeking to interview him at his home in Ohio."
Larcom says despite the weekend episodes, crime numbers are down.
Larcom adds that both incidents are being investigated by campus police as first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
