TechSmith Integrates Snagit With Google Drive

OKEMOS (WWJ) -- The screen recording and video capture software maker TechSmith said Tuesday it's taken the first step in its move toward software for mobile devices as well as the PC, announcing Google Drive integration for the TechSmith products Snagit and Camtasia, as well as the new TechSmith Snagit for Google Chrome.

"TechSmith believes in visual conversations," said William Hamilton, founder and president of TechSmith. "We believe sharing images helps remove confusion and facilitate understanding. Google, with its Chromebooks and Drive platform, is a naturally collaborative environment that we see as a great fit for our solutions now and into the future."

More than 30 million students, faculty and staff are using Google Apps for Education and more than 5 million businesses are using Google Apps for Business, which now has access to TechSmith offerings. With the TechSmith products and the Google Platform, users can share knowledge, work together and learn from one another by:

• Providing Personalized Feedback -- Capture the documents or presentations your students or coworkers are working on and easily share feedback for review wherever they are.
• Keeping Everyone in the Loop -- Take a quick screenshot of a paper or project you are working on, add notes and send to coworkers, your superiors or third parties.
• Getting the Most out of Your Google Drive -- View, markup and manage your captures anywhere, thanks to the deep integration Snagit for Google Chrome has with Google Drive.

TechSmith said more updates on its software and social media platforms are coming in the weeks ahead. More at www.techsmith.com.
