Awards And Certifications From Dec. 3

IDV Solutions Achieves Three Microsoft Gold Competencies: Lansing-based IDV Solutions announced that it has attained a Gold Application Development competency, a Gold Business Intelligence competency, and a Gold Data Platform competency, demonstrating a "best-in-class" ability and commitment to meet Microsoft Corp. customers' evolving needs in today's dynamic business environment and distinguishing itself within the top 1 percent of Microsoft's partner ecosystem. To earn a Microsoft gold competency, partners must successfully complete exams (resulting in Microsoft Certified Professionals) to prove their level of technology expertise, and then designate these certified professionals uniquely to one Microsoft competency, ensuring a certain level of staffing capacity. They also must submit customer references that demonstrate successful projects (along with implementing a yearly customer satisfaction study), meet a revenue commitment (for most gold competencies), and pass technology and sales assessments. IDV Solutions is the developer of Visual Fusion data visualization software technology. Visual Fusion is a platform for building map-based solution applications that organizations can use to increase strategic insight and make informed decisions. With Visual Fusion, organizations can rapidly craft powerful visualizations that unite data from multiple sources and systems on an interactive map, timeline, charts, and graphs. Visual Command Center, built on the Visual Fusion platform, is physical security and risk visualization software. Visual Command Center empowers organizations to protect their people, facilities, operations, and events. When a risk is detected near an asset or employee location, Visual Command Center automatically generates an alert. Security operators use powerful visualization, filtering, and data query tools to rapidly assess the threat, and act to mitigate risk. Attaining the Microsoft Business Intelligence competency demonstrates partner expertise in designing, developing and implementing business intelligence solutions that allow customers to monitor, analyze and plan business performance based on actionable business insight. Earning the Application Development competency helps partners differentiate themselves as a trusted expert to their customers through development and deployment of commercial or custom applications. The Microsoft Partner Network helps partners strengthen their capabilities to showcase leadership in the marketplace on the latest technology, to better serve customers and, with 640,000 Microsoft partners in their ecosystem, to easily connect with one of the most active, diverse networks in the world. IDV Solutions is a physical security and risk visualization software company that helps organizations discover opportunity, identify risk, and take action. By repeatedly solving key problems for customers in the Global 2000 and government, IDV Solutions and its products have earned a reputation for innovation, speed, and the highest quality user experience. Two DMC Hospitals Designated Top Hospitals In Leapfrog Group's Annual List: The Leapfrog Group has named the Detroit Medical Center Children's Hospital of Michigan and DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital to its annual list of Top Hospitals, a gold standard in measuring hospital performance with quality and safety. The announcement came at Leapfrog's Annual Meeting on Dec. 3 in Arlington, Va., which gathered key decision-makers from Leapfrog's network of purchaser members, industry partners, health care stakeholders and national collaborators. DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan and DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital were selected as Top Hospitals out of a record number of 1,324 hospitals participating in The Leapfrog Group's annual survey. The list includes 22 Top Rural Hospitals, 55 Top Urban Hospitals and 13 Top Children's Hospitals. Hospitals reaching this achievement include academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, children's hospitals, and community hospitals in rural, suburban and urban settings. The selection is based on the results of the Leapfrog Group's annual hospital survey, which measures hospitals' performance on patient safety and quality, focusing on three critical areas of hospital care: how patients fare, resource use, and management structures in place to prevent errors. The results of the survey are posted on a website (http://www.leapfroggroup.org/cp) open to patients and families, the public, employers and other purchasers of health care. Established in 1886, the Children's Hospital of Michigan is the first and most experienced hospital in the state dedicated exclusively to the treatment of
children. A leader internationally in neurology and neurosurgery, cardiology, oncology, pediatric burn and trauma, and diagnostic services, it is ranked one of America's best hospitals for children. More Michigan pediatricians are trained at the Children's Hospital of Michigan than in any other facility. DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital offers expertise in complex trauma, critical care, orthopedics, urology, neurosciences, geriatrics, urology, pulmonology and stroke, and is an ABA verified burn center, one of only 43 in the country. DMC Detroit Receiving is Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center and its leading 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen therapy program. Detroit Receiving achieved Magnet status in 2009; only 7 percent of this nation's hospitals are so designated for nursing excellence, nursing leadership, research and community outreach.

The Leapfrog Group was founded in November 2000 with support from the Business Roundtable and national funders, and is now independently operated with support from its purchaser and other members.
