Detroit Police Shoot Man Involved In Alleged Domestic Dispute
DETROIT (WWJ) - An alleged domestic violence dispute in Detroit ended in a shootout with police.
Authorities said one person was hurt in the incident Christmas Day on the city's east side.
According to police, officers were called out to a home on the 18000 block of Hickory — near Schoenherr and McNichols — to find a man allegedly involved in the domestic dispute had fled the scene.
He came back, however, and began shooting at the home and at the officers, police said.
Police fired back and the suspect was shot in the leg. He took off, but was found in the backyard of a nearby home and taken into custody.
No officers were hurt. The alleged gunman was taken to the hospital. His name was not immediately released.
No details were immediately available about the domestic dispute.
Charges are pending.
