47-Year-Old Monroe Man Found Dead In Creek

MONROE (WWJ) - Police are investigating an apparent drowning in Monroe.

A 47-year old man was found face down in Plum Creek  at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday near his home south of downtown Monroe.

Rescue workers failed to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

According to Monroe Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Richard Ohanesian, it was not clear immediately clear how long the man had been in the water. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.

Police aren't releasing the man's name or any other details about the case at this time.
