Police Left With Few Clues After Stabbing Victim Dies

MONROE (WWJ) - Authorities in Monroe County are trying to figure out exactly what happened in the hours before a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death.

Police responded to a call around 10:55 p.m. Wednesday about a man who had been stabbed in the abdomen at a home in the 300 block of Almyra, near East 3rd Street.

Before officers arrived on the scene, the man's friends took him to Mercy Memorial Hospital. Despite efforts to save the man, he died shortly after arriving at the hospital. His name has not yet been released.

Police say the case is a homicide, although their investigation is still in its early stages. No information about a potential suspect was released.
