DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Zack Snyder, director of “Batman vs. Superman,” was at it again Tuesday when he called the Stoney and Bill morning show on 97.1 The Ticket to chat and reveal some news about the future of the franchise.
Last time he called in, he defended Aquaman, setting the blogosphere afire with rumors about the latest Batman movie installment.READ MORE: Henry Ford Museum's New Exhibit Celebrates Motorsports
This time he came bearing a different message. He dialed in to thank and praise the people of Detroit, and to say — he’ll be back. Bloggers can only speculate about what that means for the future of the franchise.
“We’re getting ready to wrap it up and take off and I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for being strong supporters of the movie and coming down and saying hey, and just, I’ve had a great time in Michigan, I just wanted to say thanks to you guys and just to Detroit itself,” Snyder said.
So, Affleck and company are done in Detroit?
It looks like. “We head to Chicago after this, then a couple more locations,” Snyder said.
And what was his overall view of Detroit? “I’ve had a really great time, everyone’s been amazing, the local actors and stuff that we put in the movie have been amazing. I’ve never been around such great day players.
He went on to say he “has all his Detroit shirts and flags now, so I’m representing pretty heavily.”READ MORE: 'Our Goal Is To Be 100% Balance,' City Clerk Janice Winfrey Prepares For August 3rd Primary Elections, Wants Ballots Balanced
But don’t give up hope for the Motor City’s future in cinema. Snyder indicated he’s pretty sure he’ll be back.
What was the coolest thing he did here? “The Dream Cruise, I thought, was awesome. I have an old Aston Martin … It was awesome to take it in the Dream Cruise,” he said, adding his ride broke down before he could actually make it onto Woodward.
He also gave some insight into Ben Affleck’s sudden appearance at Spartan Stadium. The director said his star just wanted to go and work out.
“Bro, you are not going to get any workout done because everyone’s going to want to take a picture and stuff with you. He goes ‘You think?’ and I’m like “Yeah, I think.'”
He said Affleck then joked after his visit with Sparty, they wouldn’t sell any tickets to “Batman” inside Indiana.
Snyder also took time to praise his Aquaman, Jason Momoa, a larger-than-life man known to make female hearts flutter. Co-host Sara went into rhapsody as soon as his name came up.
“I was hanging out with him here in Detroit and he was loving on it so hard … He’s a great guy, but like I say not a small individual,” Snyder said.MORE NEWS: Canadian Trucker Freed, Says He's Victim Of Marijuana Scam
Echoing the feelings of many local ladies, Sara said: “I’m OK with that.”
