MONROE (WWJ) – Authorities in Monroe are searching for a group of suspects who allegedly shot a man after forcing their way inside his home.

The incident happened just after 8 p.m. Friday at a home in the 600 block of W. Fifth Street, in a neighborhood near S. Monroe and Front streets.

Police say the three suspects forced their way inside the home and shot a male resident. After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene. Other circumstances weren’t immediately clear.

The victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. His current condition is unknown.

The suspects are described as black males wearing dark clothing and hoodies worn up around their faces.
