Officers responding to the scene attempted to stop a Cadillac Escalade with four people inside, but the SUV refused to stop. Officers pursued the vehicle for over 15 miles, at time traveling speeds over 100 mph.

Officials eventually called off the chase near Groesbeck Highway and I-696 in Warren. No further details have been released.

An employee at the tobacco shop told WWJ’s Mike Campbell the suspects jimmied the lock on the front entrance and stole merchandise, including several boxes of cigarettes. The employee said the store has a good video surveillance system, which recorded the crime.
