Reports: Police Officer Shot In Leg In Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) -- There are multiple reports that a Highland Park Police officer has been shot and has been transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital Monday night.

The incident occurred along Candler Street shortly before 7 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the incident -- whether there was police activity in the area or if the officer may have been off duty -- are not known at this time.

The officer was reportedly shot in the leg and the condition is unknown. WWJ Newsradio 950 is awaiting details from the Highland Park Police Department.
