DETROIT (AP) – The out-of-state law firm that guided Detroit through bankruptcy is opening an office in the city.

Jones Day says it will open on July 1. The office will be led by Timothy Melton, a Wayne State University law school graduate now with the firm in Chicago.
Jones Day lawyers handled Detroit’s bankruptcy. Kevyn Orr was an attorney at the firm before becoming the city’s emergency manager, a job he held until December.
