Investigation Underway In Wayne As Students Claim Teacher Exposed Himself

WAYNE (WWJ) -- Both Wayne-Westland school district officials and the Wayne Police Department are investigating allegations that an elementary teacher exposed himself to students.

Some parents have complained about the 47-year-old male teacher from Roosevelt McGrath Elementary School in the past, but claim the district failed to act. Most recently, three boys said that the teacher took them into a bathroom during a field trip where he exposed and groped himself.

The teacher's name has not been released as no charges have been filed at this time.

District superintendent Michele Harmala emailed parents on Friday saying that the teacher has taken a leave of absence while the district and the police investigate.
