
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) – The only thing better than an ice-cold Slurpee on a sunny, balmy summer Saturday is a free ice-cold Slurpee.
This Saturday, July 11, (or 7-11) only, 7-Eleven stores across metro Detroit and around the country will celebrate their birthday — dubbed “7-Eleven Day” — with Free Slurpee Day.

In other Slurpee news, a Downriver 7-Eleven franchise owner has this week was crowned the first ever “Slurpee Queen” after her store sold more of the frozen beverages than any other in the nation — about 375 a day; 1,000 or so during the summer.[VIDEO HERE].
