2 Men Charged In Beating Death Of Woman At Detroit Hotel
DETROIT (WWJ) - Two men have been charged in the fatal beating of woman in her Detroit hotel room.
The Wayne County's Prosecutors Office said 23-year-old Chiram Armstead and 21-year-old Kyle Kelly were expected to be arraigned Saturday on charges of first-degree murder, home invasion and torture.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 10:25 p.m. on July 4 at the Victory Inn on Telegraph Road, just south of Grand River Avenue on the city's west side.
According to police, Armstead and Kelly broke into a hotel room and brutally beat a 59-year-old woman. The men robbed the woman before fleeing the scene, according to police.
The woman was rushed by police to a nearby hospital where she later died.
After several days of investigation by Detroit police, the suspects were apprehended.
The incident remains under investigation.
