Power Outage Pulls Plug On Troy District Court Cases For Friday

TROY (WWJ) - DTE Energy says about 5,000 homes and businesses remain without power after a fire broke out at a substation around 8:20 a.m. Thursday and the outages have affected city administration as well.

Troy city hall, it's library, community center, family aquatic center as well as its district court --- will be closed Friday because of the lingering power outage stemming from a fire at a substation.

The Troy Police Department, Troy Fire Department and Troy Department of Public Works will remain open.

Free water and ice will be available at the Troy Police Department Friday at 10 a.m.

A spokesman for DTE says it's unclear what caused the fire, but power should be restored by the afternoon.
