Tuesday was one of the oddest days I have had working for WXYT in the past 10 years.

I went down to Comerica Park to try to talk to the newest Tiger, Daniel Norris. I had all types of fun questions ready to roll for the rookie…but something odd happened.

The Tigers’ locker room is always open at 3:30 p.m. for a 7:05 start. At 3:45, though, the locker room wasn’t open yet. That’s when there started to be rumblings of what could happen.

To make a long story short, the Tigers cut ties with longtime General Manager Dave Dombrowski.

New GM Al Avila met with the media and manager Brad Ausmus met with the media. Tigers’ owner Mike Ilitch was quoted in a press release but there was nothing from Dombrowski.

Until now.

Jon Morosi from MLB Network spoke to Dombrowksi and has been tweeting out quotes.
