It was dark outside when the victim — later identified by Oakland County Sheriff’s officials as 35-year-old Nicholas High of Clawson — was walking; and, authorities say, he was wearing dark clothing.

The 22-year old driver of the car involved didn’t see him until it was too late, deputies said.

High was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Investigators are not sure how High got to Adams Rd. because he doesn’t have a car and didn’t seem to know anyone in the area.  It’s unclear at this time if alcohol or drugs may have played a role, officials said.
