Along with her sister, Smith make the journey in honor of their grandmother, a breast cancer survivor.
They decided to walk one year as a way of saying thank you, and they've been walking ever since.
More than 950 women and men took part in the walk raising more than $1.9 million for breast cancer research, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs.
The three-day, 60-mile journey began Friday at Suburban Collection Showplace with participants walking 20 miles each day and sleeping in tents each night—all to make a huge difference in the fight against breast cancer.
