DETROIT (WWJ) – The Detroit Bomb Squad was called to a neighborhood on the city’s west side after a suspected explosive was found.
Some homes in the area of Petoskey Avenue near Joy Road were evacuated after police said officers found what appeared to be a hand grenade. Police were executing a search warrant at a home in the 9000-block of Petoskey at around noon when the device was spotted.READ MORE: Michigan Matters: Theaters & Politics

No injuries have been reported.
